Spring Break

Over spring break this year we went up to the mountains with a good friend of mine. She was so kind to take pictures of the kids. I think they turned out incredible! They each look so adorable..if I do say so myself. It is so weird to me sometimes that this is my little family and they are all growing up so quickly.
Ashlee - 6
Hyrum - 3 (almost 4 yikes!)Cole - 11 months

Cole loves to suck on his pointer finger. This picture is just so cute because it will always remind me of this quirky little boy. Aren't they just the best looking kids you ever saw?????

Snow Day!

With Jed in Puerto Rico much of the time I find myself getting pretty lonely on the weekends. So on Saturday my sister, mom and I decided to drive up the mountains to let the kids play in the snow. We have been having major rain storms here which have caused a lot of flooding and many days inside the house. We knew this meant there would be "snow in them thar hills." We drove up to Yosemite thinking that would be our best bet. As we drove it was still rainy the whole way which me a little nervous about finding the snow. We started to see little patches of left over snow and then we saw a sign that said "Chains required 1 mile ahead." This got me excited...snow ahead. Finally we came around a corner and saw a pullout where people were putting their chains on. We pulled over and let the kids get out and play. The whole drive up Hyrum kept saying he wanted to build a snowman. Ashlee just wanted to get in a snowball fight. We had a terrific time and the kids loved the snow. It was so perfect they played until they were soaked thru then we changed their clothes and got them warm and drove back down. It was a fun time and the kids loved it. We made an incredible snowman, people were even stopping to see it. Cole ate a little bit of clean snow and Ashlee got her snowball fight!

Hello are you out there?

I have been sitting here purusing a few different blogs for the last 20 minutes. While diong so I noticed that it seems people have really slowed down on the whole blog thing. It seems like no one really blogs anymore. Has Facebook replaced the blog??? It seems like we are either all getting too busy or have just lost interest. Also it seems like no one is even reading them anymore. My lovely sister-in-law once said that it seemed people were reading her blog when I told her I did she quickly said "Then you MUST leave a comment so I know!" So I am going to do an experiment...if you are reading this PLEASE leave a comment!! Even just a simple "Still here." so I know if people are still out there in blog world. I am now going back to the blogs I just read and comment on theirs too so they know I am still here!

Hope to hear from you soon!!

Hawaii Trip 2011

Jed's work hosts an incentive trip every year and this year it was Hawaii. We had an incredible time. It was so nice and relaxing. We just hung out and had many lazy days. My little ones were all sick at home though so I would be lying if I said I didn't feel bad just a little, but they all survived and were well cared for by loved ones and friends. I am truly blessed to have such incredible people in my life that are willing to help out when needed! Anyway our week was spent at luaus, the beach, whale watching, the beach, eating LOTS and LOTS of incredible food, oh yea and did I mention THE BEACH. I actually read 3 books on this trip. Just sat in the sun listening to the waves crash against the sand. Incredible! That is one of the top sounds on my list. Anyway here are some of the pictures! I hope you enjoy.

Ashlee's 6th Birthday

Wow, I can't believe it. My little girl turned 6 last month. She is growing up so quickly. Much too quickly if you ask me. For her Birday this year we ended up not doing a big friend party. Time just got away with me with the holidays and a bunch of other stuff and so it just didn't happen. I felt some MAJOR guilt because of that as she has been talking about her birthday all school year. I took some cupcakes to her class as it was a Friday. It was so cute watching all of the kids chasing her around and calling her Birthday girl. She felt like a queen for the day. My little girl can be so shy sometimes and gets embarresed pretty easily. She just gets this very timid look on her face when she is in the front, but also loves to be incharge. That night we drove down to my moms and I got her a little Cinderella cake to have with them. My sister's dog was born on Ashlee's birthday so we had a little dog bone shaped cake for them too. Ashlee, Hyrum and Cole had a ball. Then the next day we invited over some friends and dinner and another cake. This was a Chipmunk cake. Ashlee LOVES the chipmunks. She has watched "The Squekquel" like a million times and knows all of Brittneys dance moves from the movie. It is seriously adorable to watch her dancin'. This year we got her a big girl bike...I hope she learns soon or we will be exhausted! Hahahaha...All in all I think it turned out great for her and she didn't miss the big party she didn't get.

Confession

I LOVE Black Friday!!! There is something extremely awesome about waking up at 3:00 to go shopping with about 3,000 of my closest friends that gets me so excited every year, (even stayed overnight once). I get to give the kids to the husband (honestly they usually sleep through the whole thing) and walk away to shop, shop, shop. I really am not a huge shopper normally but this day just seems so great to do it. I love standing in line with people laughing about how crazy it is that we are standing in line at 3:00 a.m. for some stupid toys that our kids will forget 2 days after Christmas. I love comparing notes with my fellow line waiters and discussing the best deals comparing wish lists. Sometimes we even become co-conspirators "Hey if you see the camera before I do will you grab one for me? I will make sure to get the DVD player for you!" (The worst thing is to get in line behind a dud though, that happened to me once or twice BORING, now I make sure and bring friends with me). I have recruited a few people to this way of shopping and that makes it even better because I get to talk about it for weeks before the day. Last year I got to go with my SIL's in Colorado and it was a blast, although I must say it was a lot colder for line waiting. The best part was we were done by I think 8:00 a.m. and then we all went out to breakfast and got to visit and hang out. It is kind of a girls night out in reverse! Such a fun time, and such great memories. I am SO EXCITED for this year!!!! Any others out there?
